Time Attacks

August 2009 in a field of over 35 tuned cars our G35 GT car takes 1st place in the ASE Time Attack series round 3.

The car showed incredible power and speed through back to back sessions with 2 drivers all day long, some hairy handling issues but surpassed none the less.

How is the series shaping up?

Without pointing any fingers or getting myself in trouble with the series promoters, NOT VERY WELL. I have to say it is discouraging after trying to map out a full GT season to get news of must use fuels, added surcharges for each race. The Series promoters have put most of us in a position to make alternative plans for racing. It seems that with the late release of the schedule and it being changed no less than 3 times, cancellation of the first race and a diminished number of drivers on the grid allot of us have decided to pursue the Ontario Touring series, endurance events and Time Attacks as means to help promote OUR sponsors and get out there and race.
Why are we  going to remap our cars to use a fuel that we have to pay more for? the fuel supplier is not doing anything to help us race!
We work hard to go out and build relationships with sponsors. How am I going to tell my sponsor that he is taking second bill to an advertiser that does nothing for our team? If you are going to insist on us using a certain tire to race with don't wait until a week before the races to announce pricing and availability of sizes, better yet these races are televised and you have 20 cars promoting the tire maker give us some damn tires Meet us half way......

Most of us have had to rent a track, we know what it costs to run these events and we are aware that few work for free,  the idea behind a Championship Series is to promote the Sponsors, manufacturers and teams. The  sponsors are there to provide the products to be promoted and support the teams yet it seems like the promoters are not paying it forward here.

Looking into an alternative

Anothershade is looking for help with researching a conversion for the V6 and V8 Nissan engines. We would like to be able to start green racing by early 2010. It is already extremely costly for us to race at this level so we are looking for interested parties who would like to help develop a efficient high powered Green motor for us.
